NewFren clutch Kit with CLUTCH BASKET CNC machined 48 grooves with ORGANIC plates for Ducati 916 R 97-98

 

NEWFREN in cooperation with EVR presents the Ducati clutch basket which is fully compatible with the OE and after-market spare-parts currently available.

 

This new solution is built in light and strength Ergal and it is supplied with a set of sinter or organic clutch discs of NEWFREN quality.

 

The most important feature of the clutch is the hemispherical form chosen for 48 grooves which locate the clutch plates.  With this innovation, wear at the mating surface is reduced to 25% compared to the OE system, with its 12 grooves and rectangular teeth.

 

It gives longer life and a great improvement in clutch action. Until now, using other components available in the market and produced in accordance with the original design, the plates and the grooves of the basket were rapidly damaged.

 

This caused high noise levels, which could not be reduced even by changing the plates. The basket wear tended rapidly to spoil the teeth of the plates and had a deleterious effect on the operation of the clutch after a short period of use.

 

With this product, the clutch will last up to 4 times longer than standard, with a further benefit in the form of improved acceleration thanks to the lightness of the housing.

The clutch plates are available as spares, but you should note that only NEWFREN plates will fit this new basket.

Our clutches have extraordinary characteristics, providing a high co-efficient of friction, exceptional durability, and maximum tolerance of abuse and overheating. The material chosen for each disc depends on the type of motorcycle and the use to which it will be put. This enables us to provide the best performance possible, while respecting the needs of the OE manufacturer. For example, for Ducati motorcycles the clutch friction plates are surfaced with a sintered material which is suitable for SBK competition use.
